Transparent blue box behind icons when hover

disable blue transparent box behind icons on desktop win 7. Thanks to all.

The transparent blue box behind icons when mouse over is an indication that the icon is in focus. It is part of the GUI system.

I agree with Ned, it means that icon is in focus - or has been selected. If you mean that box is behind multiple icons, that means you likely had a mouse button pressed, then you moved the mouse over several icons, selecting several of them at once.

Those boxes "should" disappear if you deselect them which you can simply do by clicking on a blank space on your desktop.
