G-mail trash

I am using Google and the Gmail function. When I delete an e-mail then check both the Gmail and map trash bin the deleted item is not shown. Sometimes I attempt to recover a deleted email but can't because the trash folder always shows empty

I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but I'll give it a shot. I also use Gmail, and on the left side of the page below where it says Inbox, Snoozed, Important etc. there's one that says Trash, and another that says [Gmail] Trash. Nothing ever goes into the one that's labeled [Gmail] Trash it all goes into Trash that is listed below Spam.
