Acer Laptop Backlighting

The specifications for my new Aspire 5 A517-52-713G clearly state that it has keyboard backlighting. I've tried all the usual Fn combinations but cannot get lighting to work. I do a lot of work in low light environments so this is an important feature. Can someone provide a solution, please?

FnF9

The F9 key should have a "A"on it with the symbol for backlighting, if no symbol then no back lighting.

Murf, that's the wrong Key.

It is F8 + Fn.

Here's the manual in a PDF that he can download.
