Angry Net Keeps Cutting Out - RAWRRRR!

Hey all,

im having problems with our internet/networking, not quite sure which it is

Recently i purchased a Netgear DSL Modem Internet Gateway - DG814 and a D-Link DI-624 Wireless router.

I have the main computer and then I connect to the router wirelessly with my laptop.

Ok, so heres the problem, my net frequently cuts out and then I have to come down shutdown the modem and re-apply the settings on my modem setup to get the little I (internet light) to come back on. This is very annoying.

Secondly I cannot use both computers on the net at the same time, im guessing this is some noob networking by me, so any help would be appreciated...

So yea, im not sure if theres a problem with my networking, or if there's a problem with my computer, although i doubt theres a problem with my computer seeing as I have been able to run the internet through it with various other modems for years.

Anyways, yeaaa, any help would be much appreciated

hi nesian and welcome to CTH -

How do you have these wired together? I take it you replaced an old modem, was there a reason why?

Also, can you run ipconfig/all on both machines and post the info back here?

You are running a router to another router. While in and of itself this isn't necessarily a problem, it does require some advanced configuration to make them work together.

Maybe this article will help.
