PC Won't Go To Sleep
Hi
I've setp my power plan, turn off display is set to 5 mins and computer to sleep is set to 10 mins. After 5 mins my motitor turns off but my pc doesn't go to sleep. I've tried various different settings but still no change. Any ideas? |

Did you delete your hibernate file in disk cleanup?

Click start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disk cleanup and see if you have hibernation file cleaner and what the size is. If its empty then it was cleaned. Please see

One item that can sometimes pose an issue is the "Multimedia Setting" within the Power plan. Are you sharing multimedia? To be safe, go into your power plan, advanced settings, multimedia settings and: "When sharing Media" ensure the setting shows "Allow the computer to sleep."
If the issue persists, I would also call Dell; they should have reasonable support, and while it may take some patience, I think they'll support this. |
