Oh dear, this is the Dell right? D is your Recovery drive. You should be backing up to removable media if you do not have an available drive.

What error do you get?

Hi

The only message I get is backup failed. The (d) isnt my recovery partition. I don't have a recovery partition.

Really? So the D partition wasnt created by Dell, you created it yourself?

Open a command prompt. Go to Start Search and type cmd.exe. You will see the file appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as administrator" and copy and paste the below command after the prompt.

%SystemRoot%\System32\wercon.exe

Problem Reports and Solutions will open. Click on View Problem History. Can you please copy what you see for the dates when the problem occurred (I'm afraid you will have to do this manually but no need to duplicate identical entries) and post it here.

Not really. "Backup Failed" doesnt give any clue at all. Are you able to backup to removable media?
