MY Frames Per Second....

Ok i have a big problem.. .i have been to three other forums and none of them coudl do anytihng to fix it.

Computer Specs:
-Intel Celeron 2.93Ghz Processor
-EVGA Geforce 7600 GS 256mb Video Card
-1Gb of RAM
MY frames per second in Wolfenstein : ET are 20 when there is no activity and when there is bombs or a gun fight my frames drop to 8-17fps... The game is 5 years old and my computer shoudl rip through it.

I have Tried:
-Completely uninstalling and then reinstalling drivers.
-Typing commands into the console in the game.
- Lowering my gfx in the game (which i should have to)
-Turning off Vertycal Sinc
-Tried closing programs like xfire and teamspeak which didnt help
-And i reformatted my hole computer like 2 days ago and now my pc has about 5 programs on it..(Still Same Frames)
-I have laest NVIDIA Drivers.

Ive been to:
-Pc Pitstop Forums
-NVIDIA Forums
-Tech-pc.co.uk forums

This porblem is really gettign to me because i sohudl run this game nad other games fine and i dont.

you think thats bad... my alienware (AMD athlon 4000+, 1gb ram, 6800GT) lags in starcraft... (not sure why cant reproduce the problem anymore...)

did you update tot he latest direct x?
i suggest running 3dMark2001 and see if that lags, it shouldnt, and its around the same time ET came out

Disable anisotropic filtering, and anti-aliasing, instead of the default "application controlled"

I guess you could try a BIOS flash if you know how to.

~3500 on 3dmark2001SE
on such a PC
that weird
should get like 6000-9000
unless the celeron processor really really sux
AMD Athlon64 4000+
1GB RAM
6800GT
gets 10000 3d Marks

something is definately wrong
since your already formatted the computer, which elimitated all viruses and spyware
unless you have installed or ran programs that could put viruses and spyware on your computer in the past 2 days, i have to say its something to do with the hardware...

hmmm
you say it doesnt lag in other games? can you list these other games
