OK go to the link that I had posted before and use the catalyist uninstaller.
Then lets download the microsoft.net and the catalyist 6.4 again and see if we get a change. *cross's fingers*

Well Baboon, I downloaded and installed everything and just ran an error-less EverQuest session. Maybe we've fixed it? Only time will tell. I will post back here if anything comes up! Hopefully not!

Thank you so much for all your help dude. Been a huge time saver!

Baboon,

Spoke too soon. Crashed.

But I give up, so no further help is needed. Just wanted to close the topic. Thanks for all your help, though. We tried =[

When I get home I will search around a bit more. I am not restricted there (work PC wont let me look at game related sites.) - Or anything fun for that matter.

baboon,

I did a complete EQ file wipe again. Reinstalled. When I logged in to my character for the first time, the game started in windowed mode. PRessed alt+enter to get out of windowed mode and it crashed, with a popup window saying "Reset Device(0) Failed!".

baboon,

This error message popped up while loading EQ for the second time. Didn't even make it to the character select screen this time.

As you can see I am going back on what I said earlier. I'm not forfeiting yet. But if you take a look in the Cyber Safety forum, I have a thread that also attacks this crashing issue. Tom cleaned my computer.

Do you think I am having a hardware malfunction? Whatever it is, I'm very not happy, I did not purchase an expensive computer to have it malfunction, I invested in this thing so I WOULDN'T have problems. /sigh

Not mad at you. Just venting. Any ideas?

Ok here is what I would like you to do.
In My signature there is something called PCPit. it is a scan tool that will check for hardware issues.

I can run EverQuest, but it crashes randomly. I will start the patcher, the patcher almost always runs without error. Then, after I press "Play", sometimes the client crashes. Sometimes I make it past that screen to the server select screen, and after selecting a server and pressing "Play on this server", it crashes. Other times, it'll wait until I make it to the character select screen, and after I select a character to play, it'll start to load and then crash. And last but not least, sometimes during gameplay when I go to zone, the game crashes. In rare, but extreme cases, the screen will go blue and a loud screeching noise will sound for about 1 or 2 seconds. And, then, sometimes it just lets me play without any errors.

I can honestly say, I am losing my mind.

Booted up this morning to recieve an "System has recovered from a serious error" message. After clicking ok, it brought me to this page. (See attachment)

So I think I will use some of ATI's troubleshooting information, I guess I might just have a bad graphics driver? Who knows. What's one with equal or better performance of an ATI Radeon 9000 series cost, anyways?

Talking

My video card is shot, isn't it?

Keep in mind these screenshots have been reduced in size so I could post them; that's why they're grainy. The puke-green color which makes up the zone, however, is real.

Any estimates how much a new video card is? Equal to the performance of a Radeon 9600? And are they easy to install?

Thanks
Tyler

Hi there. At this point I am guessing that the Card is dead.

The 9600 series is pretty inexpensive to replace.

Here is a 256mb 9600xt
