I reckon you would be better of waiting till you have all the money, and spend it on a build. You will get better value for your money.

for 1430 Pounds thats about 3500AUD

I can get here a system with these specs
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850(I think this is 3GHz)/Quad Q6600 (I think this is 2.4GHz)
Some Mid - High end Motherboard (gigabyte or Asus)
4GB Kingston DDR2 - 667Mhz RAM
Geforce 8800 GTS (640MB) /8800 GTX (768MB) (Gigabyte or Asus)
2 320GB HDDs (seagate or WD)
DVD Burner (Pioneer or Asus)
Decent case and PSU (thermal take or cooler master)
Vista ultimate
22" Widescreen monitor (View Sonic, Benq or Acer)
Logitech 5.1 Surround Speakers
Logitech G5 Gaming mouse
Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard
from www.msy.com.au

that all cost about 2700 AUD = ~1100 Pounds
though you are missing that water cooling system
water cooling kits usually cost about $200 - $300 AUD
so about $3000 AUD now
if you get parts from UK
I suspect prices would be scaled up a bit due to general economy, cost of living etc then any additional taxes

Minimum specs for good gaming these days would be (In My Opinion)
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600/AMD Athlon X2 6000+ or better
2GB of DDR2 RAM
Geforce 8600GT or better
19" (or larger) LCD Monitor with < 8ms response time
+Case, PSU, Hard drive, keyboard, mouse etc
Which can be bought here for about $1700AUD or ~700 Pounds

What type of games do you desire to play? because If your not going to play anything new tech aka games in last year or so then you can save probly half of what he posted. and still play games( and ive played games with 8ms monitor, cough ghost effect any one?)

Simple, Just put vsync on and it will eliminate any ghosting on LCD, and tearing on a CRT. (Though you do sit at a lower FPS, But is usually runs way smoother).
