Black and White graphics in CoH

Ok,

I have a UniChrome II graphics card...

City of Heroes is running OK at best, but the npc's and player chars are all black and white.

I had this prob in WoW at one point but a GM helped me fix it.

The CoH forums are broken.. and the programming for adding an account is messed so i cant post there.

Also in game the cursor is invisible.. so its very difficult to click on the UI. Making it near impossible to contact a GM.

All the graphics are set to low..

Any help is appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Hi Josh,

Ya! What was I thinking!?

Intel Celeron 2.2
VIA UniChrome II 64mb graphics card
1024mb RAM
40gb HD(15gb free)

anything else you need to know, just ask me!

Like I said this happened in world of warcraft aswell... but i fixed it by simply renaming 2 folders... i JUST installed city of heroes so im not sure what to say.
I thought maybe my card doesnt support directx9.0 ... but i mean.. if WoW runs fine now, shouldnt CoH?

Thanks again!

Post some more ?'s

you got a good setup there I think the thing that is really holding you back is your card try going to start run and type dxdiag to see all your specs such as direct x level and other things that you listed above. Is your card an agp, pci or pci-express? never played either game but is wow more open space if so that might be the factor it runs better becasue your card doesny have to process as much in a small area like coh does ie: buildings, etc. make sure your drivers are up to date as well as direct x you can get from microsoft.com, who is the manufactuer of your chipset nvidia or ati never really heard of unichrome.

From what i have found on the unicrome chipset,it is integrated into
the motherboard and is probably not capable of hardware textures and lighting.
This is causing the game to default to software rendering mode.

You might want to see if there is an available AGP slot on the
motherboard and install a better video card.
