0x80004005 error code

Troubleshoot problems - System and Security

System:
System Maintenance
Performance
Power
Windows:
Search and Indexing
Windows update
When I click on any of these the box comes up with next to click and when I click a box come up saying.
An error occured while trouble shooting, the troubleshooting wizard can't continue.

View error details:
Package ID: Maintenace diagnostic
Path: C:/Windows/diagnostics/scheduled/maintenance
Source: Engine
User: MYPC/Peter
Context: Restricted

This happens on all of the 5 headings, I am running Win 7 home 32 bit any help and assistance to get rid of this 0x80004005 error code will be appreciated.

Your user is restricted that's what is stopping you. Try right clicking "run as administrator".

When you installed the OS there is a place where you enter a password for the administrator account. It seems like when you log in you end up in a non-admin account which is for security purposes a safe way to go if your not the only one who has access to the PC. If while in windows you select "switch User" instead of "restart" or "log off" you should be able to get to a log in for the admin account. I hope you remember your pass. If you never set one, try just selecting the admin account without entering anything and see what happens. I looked in the diagnostics maintenance folder and there are no executables in there to right click, nor from the control panels selection so the admin account seems the way to go.

Do not quite understand, I am the only user and administrator and never used a password.

EDITED, would this that I have listed below be connected to the 0x80004005 problem, if not have I now got two problems.

MMC could not create the snap-in

From what I read searching MMC error it has something to do with dot net. There seem to be so many different issues listed and fixes that only work for some and not others I don't know what to tell you.
