d3dx9_40.dll is missing
I downloaded a free game from game for windows live, called game room. It downloaded fine and seemed to install fine, but when I went to run the game I go this error d3dx9_40.dll is missing and basicly to reinstall the program. Now the other game I got from game for windows live that game runs just fine, no errors at all.
Any ideas why Game Room wouldn't run? Did it just not install right and I should try to reinstall the game. |

What version of Windows are you using?
GameRoom obviously requires a particular version of DirectX9 that you had never installed. Moving to gaming forum... |

I have windows 7 and my DirectX, is all up to date. I did resolve the issues. I ended up going to the windows live website and was able to download the update there. After that I redownloaded the game and was able to get it to run.
