Floppy drives not being read each time
I have noticed a problem with reading floppys in WinME and WinXP. After I read a floppy for the first time, in either Windows or in DOS, and then put in a different floppy and read it, I still get the directory contents of the first disk. Doesn't Windows or DOS clear-out memory or at least really read the floppy?

It has been in DOS and Windows for many years now. Basically its reading the disk data and stores it in the cache memory. Making it quicker to access and run a program, then having too always access the disk for a program, or the File Directory. I suggest you move this to the XP, or Older Windows Versions forums, for help with the possible adjustment of the Caching Write Policy settings. Signed: Ensign Tzap |
