Smile Win98SE Updates

I have been reconstructing my Win 98SE system from scratch and have been applying the Microsoft patches and fixes. I use my computer as a standalone at home and am not on a network (LAN/WAN). I don't want to apply any updates that are specifically aimed at computers that are networked (don't need them). Does anyone know if these 3 updates are intended for Win98SE computers on a network?

1) q314941 (12/17/2001) - Unchecked Buffer in Universal Plug and Play can
Lead to System Compromise for Windows 98.

2) q315575 (4/17/2002) - DCOM Program Hangs After Server Reboot
Creating DCOM Object.

3) q323455 (9/30/2002) - Directory Services Client Update for Windows 98.

It appears to me that they are but I would appreciate an "official" answer from someone who knows. BTW, according to Microsofts Knowledge Base UPnP is for computers on a network to be able to discover network devices and use them.

#1 & #3 - technically unnecessary for a device that is never networked or on-line.

#2 - Not restricted to networked computers so should be applied. DCOM client-server relationships can be internal to the local machine depending on the application(s) affected.

I have been thinking of setting up an offline Win98SE just for playing older games or running a few musical creation apps I bought years ago. I don't think that including network or online updates in the mix will slow down the PC in anyway. So for that reason, and for simplicity, I downloaded the "Unofficial Windows 98SE SP 3.45" to make things easier. One I can get it from any PC and just deliver it to the 98SE PC without connecting to the network. It's a whopping 102mb so a cdrom will be sufficient and I can add some older 98 utilities to the disk that would be appropriate for what I want to do. I also have a bootable Win98SE disk I acquired that I can use with my store bought serial making it much easier than the floppy boot for installation that I haven't done in years.
