intel duo E4600 2.4 ghz 2mb cache..worth it?

I have 200 dollar limit to buy a processor. My current processor is 3.2 ghz, and NOT duo. So im thinking i should get a duo, yes?

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...ufacture=Intel

I was looking at this one (I live in canada, looking for canadian prices or canadian websites)

I'd like to get some feedback on this one. Yes, my motherboard supports LGA775

Just because your motherboard is socket 775, Doesn't mean it will support a Core 2 Duo, as the motherboards chipset and BIOS need to have support for them since they are different core.

What is the model name and number of your motherboard?

Yes a Duo is a good upgrade, But only if it supported by your motherboard.

Unfortunately your motherboard will only support Pentium 4 / Pentium D and Celeron processors.

Nforce 680i are good, They will support all Core 2 duos/ SLI and even quad core CPU's.

It is quite easy. Just make sure you re-arrange or add standoffs if required. So the motherboard does not mount directly to the panel, the standoffs are there to elevate it so the back doesn't get short circuited. A misplaced standoff, touching the back of the motherboard will do the same thing. So you just need to align them corerctly.

But thats about it, Since the board you already have is ATX they should be set in the same position.
