Explorer 5.0 closes without warning
When I browse to certain URLs my browser (IE 5.00.3314) will close without any error messages or warning whatsoever. Anyone have an idea on what might be causing this shutdown?

I know that pages opened with java script can close themselfs

I'm sure that www.mapquest.com and www.news.com do not have javascripts that are closing my browser on purpose. Anyone else have problems with these sites?

It appears to be sites with pop-up JavaScript windows that open when the page loads. Still, I can't find any information on this being a bug or how to fix it.

Have you installed any popup stopping software? that may be crashing IE when it tries to produce a popup.

It's a standard corporate install of IE and there is no pop-up stopping software.

I'd suggest you speak to your IT support guys, they probably won't be too happy if you make things worse trying to fix the problem
