c:\config.msi error when updateing itunes

This has been going on for a while now and I just want to figure out why. I'm not able to update within the iTunes player anymore, it downloads everything fine, but when it comes to installing and maybe it has 85-95% of it finished it cancels out.

So I have to go to the website, but every time it goes through the install process I get a c:\config.msi error which is also followed by letters and numbers and basically tells me to make sure I have access to the directly. I am the only user of this computer.

Now I am able to get passed these errors by clicking the retry button 7 times in a row, as it goes through the install process. I just want to figure out why it does this every time for an update.

Thanks

Try the following:

Quit Itunes

Start a elevated command prompt;

Windows 7: Start > All Programs > Accessories> Right click Command Prompt > Run as Administrator

Windows Vista: Start > Type Cmd in the start search box> Right click cmd.exe>Run as administrator and press continue

Type the following;

netsh winsock reset and then press enter

Reboot the computer

Try now did it help?

Thanks. Next time there is an iTunes update, I'll give that a shot.
