Restoring a Toshiba Satellite laptop?
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2071 that I need to restore (due to lots of spyware). It was made before mid 2007, so the restore function isn't built in, and someone threw away the box with the restore disk. But the Toshiba site has downloads for every single driver needed for the laptop. If I were to restore the computer with a Windows XP disc, then just download and install of the drivers, would everything work out well? I want to make sure that nothing will go wrong before I try something like this.

If the laptop came with XP installed, you have a copy of XP that is not currently in use on another computer and if it has a valid product key and the drivers you've located work with XP then, yes, it should work.
There's likely a product key on a sticker somewhere on the laptop's case. It's probably an OEM key (it will have the letters "OEM" somewhere in it). That means you must use an OEM copy of XP to use that key. Otherwise, the copy of XP you have must have its own key. |
