wifi usb adaptor range
Is it possible to increase the range & power of a wifi usb adaptor? Can u buy any kind of booster to pick up a signal from further away? I have a Belkin N1 usb adaptor which has one of the longest ranges available but its not long enough! Any help appreciated. cheers

You can buy a higher gain antenna for a device if it has a screw off or twist off antenna on it originally. I'm not familiar with this particular adaptor, so don't know if it is a built in antenna or a "sticky-uppy" one.
Have a google for "wireless hi-gain antenna". You'll find plenty to look at there. Usually, 7dbi antennae are the best cost/effectiveness to go for. |

This is my adaptor(if youre interested!). Its not a screw in type so Im not sure how they would connect. I did think about putting my wifi adaptor on the roof but the 5mtr usb ext cable didnt work. I dont think the usb had enough power for that length. Would a electric powered hub help with this? |
