I have no icons or taskbar on my desktop.

I restarted my computer multipul times but still I have no icons or taskbar on my destop.I have my wallpaper and the computer seems fine task manager pops up quick, it boots up quick ext. Still I have no icons, I did a Google search and read that I needed to use task manager to run explorer.exe still nothing.So what's the problem I need help please.. I just now tried going into safe mode that worked.So while in safe mode I tried system restore set it back a week.Still no help ANYONE PLEASE!!!

Hmmm if system restore didnt do it im not sure......

Try right clicking your desktop AND MAKING SURE "VIEW AS WEB PAGE" isnt selected.. (If it is you might have "HIDE ICONS WHEN DESKTOP IS VIEWED AS WEBPAGE" enabled....) but maybe not since you say your taskbar isnt there either.

Can you press WINDOWS KEY + R and ge the run box?

Yeah the system restore not working got me too.OK here's what I've got as of right now.I spent all day yesterday Googling through this topic on my other PC.I found a few that told me to go into safe mode and stop unknown start up programs.I did this and I got my icons and task bar back.When I did my Adaware antivirus kicked in I think it may have killed programs I need.Since its a free version I can't get those programs back I think.Here;s why I think it killed programs I need.After it was done I can boot up most of my desktop except Yahoo Messenger won't boot and I can't click on anything start, icons ext.When I go to safe mode I can except I can't use internet explorer.So should I post this in a antivirus forum or can you help?
