struggling laptop

recently my laptop started getting really slow all the sudden, even simple tasks are labor intensive. this is a hp compaq nx6110
how can I find out what the problem is?

Most often payware/malware. However, to clean it up first before going to our Cyber Safety Forum do this.

1. In Internet explorer delete all temporary files (Under Tools | Options menu)

2. Right click on Start the to Explore

3. Left pane find the Windows\Temp folder, delete everything in there.

4. If you hard drive has not be defragged for some time you need to do that.

5. Run ADWARE let it remove any entries it finds.

If after the above still slow then go HERE and post your log in our cybersafety forum...put a link to this thread so they know what you did so far.
