sounds distorted and higher pitched
Can someone please help me? All of a sudden all my sounds started being distorted. Voices sound like they are using heluim (kinda). I've done hardware checks (everything fine), and ran virus and spyware scanners (also fine). Any ideas? I've never had a sound card go out on me before is this what happens? This one don't have a separate sound card, its attached to the mother board, so if it is the sound card can I install one thats separate even though there is one here? Please help!!

Dosn't sound like a hardware problem, check the wires.
Also if you can remember what happened before you this problem, that would work. |

Try reinstalling the sound card drivers:
1. Go to Control Panel>System XP - go to Hardware tab>Device Manager button Win9x/ME - go to the Device Manager tab 2. Double click on Sound, Video and Game Controllers 3. Double click on the sound card listed there 4. Go to the Driver tab 5. Click on the Update Driver button Step through the wizard, don't specify where Windows is to search for the drivers and hopefully Windows will reinstall them. |
