Then please search the Adblock Plus as addon in Firefox and install it. The freezes are hardware related I think, that's why we need to download and run ChrystalDiskInfo.

Extract the zip file and run the exe, no need to run the x64.exe as you use a normal 32bit system.

Open ChrystalDiskInfo. When the tool is finished, click on edit > copy. Then come here into the thread and rightclick > paste the info here into your thread.

Get into your BIOS setup, see if there is a menu item that says something like Hardware, what your looking for is to see what the temperature is of your processor. Your BIOS may not show it if not download and run the following:

http://openhardwaremonitor.org/

Install and run it, then post your CPU and video temp's

My friend came and like all of you he knows his computers. It seems my hard drive is going out and since my computer is older I am going to try and just get a new one soon. I thank you both for your help.

Firefox stop responding computer freezing Moved from malware by schrauber

I have found much about working with Windows XP but also would like to find out how to be able to slip a Gateway Operating System Recovery DVD with Vista.

Is it possible to take that Vista DVD and slip it to have Service Pack releases to make it up to date? If yes then could you explain how?

Thank you.

I am getting a lot of Firefox stop responding & computer freezing. I did a scan on malware bytes and it found 7 items and I sent them to quarantine all were
pup.optional.outbrowse. I tried to do a avast scan and it froze mid way through.

I did another avast scan and it found 3 items I sent to vault, do I post them here or in another forum to see if I need to proceed futher?

I try and use the ctrl alt delete to get my computer to be active again and it may or may not work. I often have to push button on tower to restart. Is there another way other than that ?

Thanks for any help you may give
Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start, open My Computer, select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
