Wont you try this. Start, control panel, network and internet conections, network connection, and right click Local Area Connection, and choose enable it. Cuz probably your connection is disable and that is the reason why you cant connect to internet..

Thumbs up

I have the network connection. Programs were accessing. Just not with IE or OE. I ran Ad-Aware SE, Regestery tool kit, Ace utilities but no luck. I found any time I did try a log on with IE or OE the web address was for "incredifind.com".

In addition to that looking through the windows folder I found a text file with a lot of information on unsupported hardware and soft ware not supported. So I guess I didn't do my home work well enough before installing SP2 I looks to me to be a whole new OS not just a patch.
I ended up doing the uninstall and everthing work ok. I just had to relosd IE and OE. Thinks for the help
