So when I get old and need to use a walker, please remind me NOT to move to Australia.
Thank you for your time. |

Yep! I think I prefer death by old age to having several thousand volts thrown at me by an idiot in uniform. Really he couldn't calm a 95yo frail female. FFS!

I can only agree chaps, a disgusting end for a poor old lady. I expect any inquiry will be long and drawn out, with ridiculous reasons being presented as to why the actions of the police officer were justified. Let's hope they jail him and throw away the key.

Happy to advise that many Australians have expressed horror at the actions of the police officer involved in this action. One of the online newspapers received so many hostile posts in the comments section that they have closed all comments, to avoid the possibility of any conviction of the police officer being overturned at any appeal.

Something like this would never happen in the USA.
Here, they would have used live rounds. |

She probably thought herself to be carrying some innocent thing ( you choose) from the past. Notwithstanding I am almost 76yo in really poor health but still feel I would have been able to get a far better resolve than killing her. Last edited by Jaytee; May 31st, 2023 at 05:03 AM. My thoughts are; if a young fit 33 year old police officer is not able to safely remove a knife from a frail old 45kg demented lady holding on to a walker, he shouldn't be in the police force.
Prior to all this, John, I already told my kids I never wish to be put in a nursing home, home care for me if needed, if it leads to my early demise, so be it. In another low for Australia, a decorated war hero and VC winner, who brought a defamation action against several Australian newspapers for publishing a story that stated he had murdered several unarmed prisoners while in Afghanistan, has lost his case, the judge finding that in fact he had done this.

The media magnate who bankrolled the defamation action by Ben Roberts-Smith, the disgraced former soldier, is now funding another defamation action, this time an accused rapist, whose trial was aborted when a juror misbehaved and the victim suffered mental health problems from the stress of the trial and the judge decided not to call a retrial.
The TV network owner seems to have poor judgement in the causes he backs, let's see where this one goes? |
