Reinstall XP
I just sold my desktop and want to wipe everything out on it. Already took everything off that I need for new computer. Do I just put in my XP disk and reinstall? Thank you!

If your computer came with one that would be the smart thing to do. Also can do a restore back to the first one date you can select.

Howdy:
Also, if the system you are selling came with its own cd, you would be required to give the cd along with the system. It is considered OEM and is forever married to that computer and cannot ever be used on any other system. Murray |

Also most OEM desktops (Dell HP Gateway etc.) often have a hidden recovery partition on the original hard drive. If thats the case for your system, you could try hitting F12 during boot (or whatever it tells you on the boot screen for factory default, repair or restore) and allow the disk to be returned to its original state when you bought it. Any data you had on the drive will not be wiped out completely and could theoretically be recovered, but unless you had nuclear secrets, illegal porn or bank account info, I wouldn't worry too much.
