I need to make a correction..... When I say "I Google", that's my term for search the web. It doesn't always mean through Google. As it turns out: when I downloaded the Microsoft Essentials, I also allowed Babylon Toolbar and Search engine to be downloaded. A couple of other ad-ons were in there as well. Whamjam and Yontoo I believe they were. Not real sure of the spelling on that. I decided to uninstall those ad-ons and make Google my Home Page as well as my "default" search engine.
Problem solved. I just thought I would relay that information in case someone else; you were providing assistance to, came up with the same problem. Last edited by rebsfan4; January 20th, 2013 at 07:45 PM. |

That doesn't sound like a Microsoft Essentials behavior problem to me. I'm just wondering it it's IE9 that is causing the problem. I'm still using IE8.
Try this, and if it fixes the problem we'll know if it's IE9. If taht fixes it you may want to try to downlaod IE8. The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Click the Start button, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes. Click one of the following: Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer). Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer). Source(s): http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...c-68b599b31bf5 |

You might want to do a scan with Microsoft Essentials just to be on the safe side, I hate toolbars that get downloaded like that.

You'll have to upload the screenshots to a place such as Photobucket or someplace like that. Photobucket.com is free.

Good. You might also download the FREE version of Malwarebytes from here. Install it and then update it, then run a scan.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ Good to have on your computer, and to run about once a week. |
