Your profile may be corrupted. Try creating a new user account with Admin permissions and log into that. Do you notice any difference?

Did you create a new profile? If not, how did you achieve the uninstalls?

I uninstalled Spybot from Safe mode. I used your path to AVG for the uninstall.

I created a new profile and tried to uninstall spybot but it was saying the same thing as on my normall profile. I then remembered i previously deleted stuff in safe mode and done that though perhaps i should have waited to see what you said....

Well if you can uninstall Spybot in Safe Mode but not in normal mode, it's likely that a startup is causing your problems.

Try clean boot troubleshooting to see if you can isolate the problem. See here for more information.

You were getting permission denied messages when you tried to uninstall AVG and Spybot, also when deleting folders. You were also having problems running Defrag and Ad-Aware. Does this still happen when you are in a cleanboot state (Step 1).

Ok, well your operating system obviously has a number of problems. Your best option is to try a startup repair. See here for more help if you need it.

Go ahead and install the new version of AVG (8.5). You can download it here. Reboot afterwards.

Regarding defrag, click on the Start button and type cmd.exe in the Start Search box. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Copy and paste the below command after the prompt>.

defrag c: -a > c:\find.txt & start notepad c:\find.txt

and hit Enter. When the analysis is completed, Notepad will pop up with some information. Post the contents in this topic. Also post any error messages in full.

Would it be ok to suggest you download revo uninstaller and do a forced uninstall? That way you might be able to get rid of those av programs. Also Revo takes care of all leftover files from that program. Afterwards you might want to try out a free trial of Tune up utilities 2009 to try to optimize your system.
