It may take a few minutes. Your drive is being searched.

I see that someone has tried this before back in July last year.

Ok, the file has been incorrectly renamed. What you need to do now is to go back to c:\Users\Smyth\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates and find both of the below files:

normal.old (2).dotm
normal.old.dotm

and rename them to normal.old. Make sure that you can view file extensions because you are renaming dotm to old and normal.old just becomes normal. Do you understand what I am talking about? When the file is renamed, the name of the file is normal and the file extension is old.

That's a separate issue and should be posted in our Hardware Forum. You made a mistake when you renamed the file.

You havent follow my instructions. Please make sure you can view file extensions. That's why you are having problems. See below.

Make sure you can view hidden files and folders and uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" and "Hide Protected Operating System Files" first.

ok, we are getting there.

Rightclick on the below files and rename them so they look like this: normal.old (clear all the information from the little box so it's empty before you do this).

normal.old (2).dotm
normal.old.dotm

Darn. You will need to run Microsoft Office Diagnostics. See here for more help. You may need that CD after all but see how you go.
