Vista registration has stopped working

Hi. I just bought a new computer.
After just a few days I got this error:
Vista registration has stopped working.
I get this error each time I restart.

I have a laptop, Toshiba Satellite X200.

Ive searched for this, but cant find any reports on this.

Anyone who can help me?

Hi syklitengutt. Go to Control Panel and open Problem Reports and Solutions. Click on View Problem History and post back what you see (word for word) on the date that you got the error message.

I didnt know about that in Vista.

This tells me that its toshibaregistration.exe that has stopped working. I can then direct the question to toshiba instead.

You are welcome Chris. It's probably not a required startup and you should be able to disable it using msconfig.

I have disabled it.
Its just a program that tells me to register at Toshiba.
For warranty issues etc.

You are welcome. Can you register online manually or give them a call? It might be a good idea if you have to do this to validate the warranty.

My Toshiba laptop (PRo A200) has the same problem. i understand that this issue has been dealt earlier, but could not follow as to how to use msconfig to resolve it. Please advise.

Hi mittaltk. Click on the Start orb and type msconfig in the Start Search box. Msconfig will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Click on the Startup Tab and uncheck the below startup.

[Toshiba Registration] C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Registration\ToshibaRegistration.exe

Reboot and you shouldnt have anymore problems. Make sure that you give Toshiba a call though and register your computer. This may be a requirement to validate your warranty.
