CD KEY PROBLEM WITH HIDDEN & DANGEROUS 2

I had the game hidden and dangerous 2 installed on my pc but gave the game away to a family member and uninstalled the game, using the uninstall option in the game. I recently bought the game again with a new cd key and installed this on my pc but whenever I try to play multiplayer with the family member I gave the game to, 1 of us gets the message cd key already in use It would seem I still have the orginal key installed somewhere on my pc but have no idea how to find or get rid of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

You could try a registry cleaner such as Ace Utilities to clean out redunant registry keys.

I ran Ace Utilities as suggested and it came back with 330 registry entries to be deleted, some I recognised as parts of programmes I no longer have installed, some were parts of programms and games installed on my pc but the majority I didn't have a clue about. Should I delete the whole 330 entries? The registry is something I am not very familiar with so any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Only delete those that you are sure of.

Do a backup of the registry and delete others one at a time checking that all installed programs work OK. It will take time but but it the only way that I know to be sure.

Good luck. BF

If you are using ME or XP then create a System Restore point.

Also, ACE Utilities creates backups that you can restore if you have problems.
