Disconnecting Issue

Whenever my laptop goes idol it disconnects me, if I move the mouse it will start back up. I have a netgear router

I'm not sure what info you need and I'm not very computer savy...so if you need me to do something. Please tell me exactly what I need to do.
Its very annoying to have to start MSN and
reconnect.

I'm using firefox

thanks
alanis

To try the easiest thing first, go to Control Panel>Device Manager.

In the Device Manager window, double click "Network Adapter" to expand the list (or click on the plus sign), then double click the network adapter listed.

In the window that opens, go to the Power Management tab and make sure the box for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked. Click OK to save any changes you make.

See if that has any effect.

Miz, that seemed to help! But I also discovered it was hibernating so I took that off and told screen saver to come on. So far so good....

Thanks so much!
