Hotmail Virus "good game, I've played for a moment free.="

It looks like I have a virus in my Hotmail account that has been sending the message above to all my contacts. I've have not been able to change my password from a clean computer so I just deleted all my contacts, after saving their addresses in a Word file.

How do I remove the virus from my computer that is causing this? I have Spy Bot Search & Destroy and Avira AntiVir, but neither of them have found anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to CTH rwmiller83,

This really seems to be key to this infection you are describing:

Quote:

Indicates no association between the Hotmail account, the emails and your computer. At least as far as active infection on your system is concerned. Since there may have been, and still be, some initiating/repeating infection event on your computer we will need to get some more details to check. But looks like a server side issue as far as the Hotmail accounts are concerned.

Please download HijackThis from Here. Then click on the downloaded file to install HijackThis. After it is installed open HijackThis and select Do a system scan and save logfile. Use copy/paste and post that log back here for review.

Also Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your protective software queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here. Here are guidelines for using Silent Runners. You can use separate posts here when replying and posting the log files if needed.
