Random Reboots

y hel0 thar.

This problem's been with my computer for quite a while now.

I installed a new video card probably a year or two before (Radeon 9600XT, specs below). I've been using it to play HL2 and etc. Previously I had a SiS650 integrated.

Ever since that, my computer would sometimes, without warning, simply reboot itself. When this occurs can be really random, it can be as soon as I start playing, or after about 20 minutes.

I thought it could be because I didn't have enough power, or not enough RAM, or something. But here's the really weird case:

When I play high-end games like HL2, Counter-Strike: Source, other Source games, my computer rarely, or does not even crash.

When I play lower-end games like Counter-Strike 1.6, SWAT 4, or UT2004, it crashes almost instantly.

Therefore, i have not much of an idea what the real root of the problem, it could be a software conflict too.

Specs:

2.53 GHz Pentium 4 (Regular P4)
512MB RAM
Radeon 9600XT, 128MB, Catalyst 7.4, AGP 4X, Fast Write ON
60 GB 5200RPM Maxtor HD
Avance AC97 Integrated Audio
120W PSU
Windows XP SP2
2 Cooling fans, one on GFX card, one over main CPU

Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery [Settings]. At the bottem were it has 'System Failure' , Make sure the box next to Automatically restart is Not ticked. So now if you computer reboots, it may hang at a BSOD. This is your chance to copy down the error name, Error code, And also any file names associated (Eg, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA 0x000000050 ntfs.sys) etc..

Screen freezes, and looking at the lights on my pc, no activity, but it won't reboot anymore because, per your instructions, i turned off automatic reboot in case of system failure
