Program to end tasks

I just wanted to know if there was a program out there that you could schedule a time to end tasks. Like you could have it close AOL instant messenger at 9:30 pm, and a program (I think I saw one out there once) where you can have it shutdown your computer at a certain time.

If you know what the name of the program is, you can use Windows' taskkill.exe. For example, to kill all open Google Chrome browser windows, get the a CMD prompt and type:
taskkill /f /im chrome.exe

I used to download stuff from there though I don't remember what. I think one was a utility that made it easy to print file lists from explorer. Sleep a few times since then so things may be a bit foggy. I do remember you did not see that many installers until a few years later.
