lost USB drive after "the directory name is invalid"

OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Home, 64 bit
Processor: AMD E-450 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, AMD64 Family 20 Model 2 Stepping 0
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3686 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics, 384 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 465190 MB, Free - 268353 MB; D: Total - 11196 MB, Free - 1317 MB; I: Total - 476936 MB, Free - 235864 MB; J: Total - 953867 MB, Free - 347474 MB; L: Total - 953833 MB, Free - 273693 MB; M: Total - 953866 MB, Free - 463153 MB;
Motherboard: PEGATRON CORPORATION, 2AD1
Antivirus: Windows Defender, Disabled


I have a 1 TB wdbbep0010bsl-01 WD My Passport the other day I plugged it in and I got “Directory name is invalid”
I unplugged it plugged it back in..now windows does not recognize it..the led lights up but windows doesn't see it. I have it plugged into a 4 way USB HUB the other things show up but not the drive. I tried switching positions & hubs but same results..windows does not see it ?????

Try plugging the drive in to another computers USB Port, and see if it sees the drive.

does it work in another computer? also is it seen in disk management?

Windows cannot see USB drive

1) have not tried it
2 Yes says "You must initialize a disk before Logical Disk Manager can use it"
(does it meant it has to be reformatted ? If so is there any way to retrieve the data

Disk Manager sees the drive.
Right?

yes/it shows up as an Icon for the drive no name no letter..however in the error msg box it says it is drive 8
