Can I get Windows 8 back?
I installed Windows 10 but now my laptop has slowed down considerably. Is it possible to get back to Windows 8 without losing data? If so what is the procedure? Thanks.

Depends when you upgraded to Windows 10 if it has been less than 30 days then:

Start> Settings

Then click on Update & Security
Now left Pane Recovery


Click Go Back to Windows 8

Next window Click whatever you want on WHY.

Once it is rolled back you may have to reinstall some Apps


When you first upgraded to Win 10 did it run OK, then just started slowing down?

It is more then a month. The slow down started as soon as I changed over to Windows 10.

Well either we figure out what slowed it down, or you would have to reinstall Windows 8, if you have the original DVD's and obviously you would loose your programs. All you documents/pictures can be backed up. It would be like starting over.

So the whole computer is just slow?

Do you have the Windows 8 DVD'S?

The Asus laptop did not come with any CDs but I have backed up the image when windows 8 was loaded. I will save all my data and reinstall windows 8. Thanks.

check to see if you have your windows.old folder. if you still do, give the instructions in the second post a try.
