windows 10 glitch

hi Ive installed w10 it worked ok for a while but now on my desktop the windows button has stopped working on left click if i right click it opens dialog box, also cortana has ceased working although they both work on other desktops

try doing a system restore to a previously saved restore point prior to when the problem started.

If they just installed Windows 10 then then there is no restore point.

How long have you had Windows 10 installed?

If there is a restore point then you can as suggested try to restore it.

Here is a good tutorial on how to restore it;

How long has win10 been out now???? the post did say "it worked okay for a while" so I must assumed there are restore points since there has been some recent updates by microsoft.

tried system restore, as usual it couldn't restore, turned anti virus off still no luck although restore points are available

1. Run the following command in an elevated command prompt to run the system file checker:

sfc /scannow

To run: Press Win key + X together (or right click)
Right click Command Prompt (Admin) to open then type the above at the blinking cursor.

After its done restart if that didn't help then try this:

2. Elevated Command Prompt again type in the following:

Dism/Online/Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth

Restart after done.

hi murf tried both to no avail.file checker found some corrupt files and repaired them and the other one threw up error 87 online option is unknown
