Windows 10 takes a long time to boot up?

Has anyone else noticed it takes Windows Ten a long time to boot up? It's taking on average 160-180 seconds, is this normal for those without SSD and if not, what can be done to speed things up?

Matt

are you finished in the malware forum, because it is best not to do anything until they are done?

on a side note make sure you are not running both windows defender and avast at the same time. it can slow you down.

Mine boots faster than Windows 8, as said let the malware forum clear you before doing anything else.

As far as I know the system is free of Malware. Regarding WD and Avast, As far as I know WD has been turned off in the settings.

Mine actually seems to take a bit longer than it did with W8.1 with my SSD but only by a few (5 - 10) seconds at most. And this was expected as W10 sets up its security early in the boot process.

WD should automatically be disabled. You can easily check this by starting Task Manager and click on the Services tab. Scroll down and if "WinDefend" is listed, it should not be running.

And BTW, I don't think 180 seconds is that excessive - but without knowing everything you have loading with Windows, that is hard to tell.
