Please help - Windows XP question
Does anyone know how to decrease the time it takes for the time-out (the one asking for my Windows XP password). It pops up like every 3 minutes on my main windows screen. I know its somewhere in the Control Panel Thank you.

Is this a screen saver password? Are you connected to a network? Once you log in, it should not come up again. When it pops up how do you get rid of it?
Do you use the Windows logon scren to log on? |

Right clik an open spot on the desktop and click properties.
Click the screensaver tab and adjust the time. If you don't want it to do that, uncheck the box "require password". |

Repsonse to Leroys1000 and Murf - My question answered nicely and effectively
Leroys1000s - thank you for your response and also for being able to accurately diagnose my problem and prescibe a treatment (forgive me , much savier with medicine than Windows XP - IT WORKED ... and it was such a nuisance past couple of weeks !!!!
Murf - ditto pal... I'll try to spend more time on this site and barter my skills as best that I can... computer or otherwise. Thank you. Very few people speak english in my immediate viscinity, and even fewer are computer tech savvy and me not being on the high end of the socio-economic spectrum (although, very literate, mind you)... your help was much appreciative. God Bless. Neo08 |
