Windows Takes too long to boot! AVG 5 mins
I built a computer last night and noticed that it took a very long time to detect my hard disk and get into the bios. After installing windows I restarted the system and it took literally 5 mins to get into windows. From the moment it passes the bios, which takes about 2 minutes, it there is a 2 minute period where a little underscore blinks on the top left corner. It passes that and then there is a minute where the screen is just black. After that the Windows XP screen finally shows up and then it boots into windows. Once in windows everything runs smooth and there are no other delays, but that boot up is killing me. I current have an amd 3000+ processor, 1gig of ram, WD 7200rpm 250gb hard disk. Please any help is appreciated. This happens everytime I turn the computer on.
