Hi
this looks like the P-III class or its celeron sibling... that socket tells you what type it is. 370, looks like. (need my glasses) |

I like alcohol
You need it. ...to wipe the grease off, then use magnifying glass. |

The laptop doesn't work anymore. But I do know it is a pentium 3 for sure. I should get a pic of the top, but the silver metal part takes up much more area on the chip as opposed to the some of the socket 370 i looked at that has a very small metal rectangle on top at pricewatch.com
Thanks, Brad Last edited by wragen22; June 20th, 2005 at 04:45 PM. |

It's harder than I thought to find pictures at intel, as they use javascripts to have you view an image, but here you see three types of CPU for mobiles
http://support.intel.com/design/mobile/index.htm my thinking is that these mobile chips have larger dissipator slugs than their desktop siblings. Can you show us a picture? |

The company was Netlux. Supposively they used regular pc cpu's in their laptops. I don't know...

FWIW, I hate Mr. Kweeniewasseign, But what's that gotta do with it, huh?
Strangest thing, that slug looks like one on a P-IV. You should rub it clean with alcohol, and then you will see speed and its CS number. I'd like to get that CS info. |
