A man in the US thought the Covid-19 pandemic was a "fake crisis" until he and his wife contracted it.

Brian Hitchens from Jupiter, Florida, was previously a self-proclaimed coronavirus sceptic. He told US media outlet WPTV he thought it was "the government trying something" to distract everyone.

"There were all these masks and gloves. I thought it looks like hysteria."

Almost five weeks ago he and his wife started feeling ill. They were later admitted to hospital and placed in ICU. After their diagnosis, he changed his opinion.
