ok guys, when i load my windows xp it asks which version i would like to run (like safe mode) how do i just get it to always runs my regular xp? Also when i load my computer it asks for login information, is there a way that it goes straight to my desktop instead of asking? And lastly when i move my volumes up or down, my computer makes a beeping noise, from the actually computer, how can i get rid of that?

Hi cray159,
If you right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced Tab. Under the 'Startup and Recovery' heading, click the Settings button. In sytem startup, you can either take the checks (ticks) out of the boxes that say;

Quick question cray.
Why do you want to remove the log on? It offers a small degree of protection. Otherwise anybody could fire up your rig and gain access. |

Ok, if you are the only user then follow this;
Click Start > Run. In the Open box, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK. Take the check out of the box, which says Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and then click OK. You might have to go to control Panel > User Accounts > Click on 'Change the way users log on or off', and take the check out of Use the Welcome screen option. If there are multiple users (family 'puter) ask the boss. ![]() |
