Trying to install AVG

Trying to install AVG and am getting the following message:

Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgldx64.sys: starting service....
Error 0x800704fb

Any help would be appreciated.

if you already have a copy of avg installed, make sure it is completely removed before installing avg

use their removal tool -http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-tools

This was a new install after an upgrade to Windows 7, which deleted all of my files. I'll try it though, can't hurt. Thanks

Hello bmike. Instead of using AVG try this it has anti virus anti spyware and anti malware tools. I did have a link but you will have to go on line and download microsoft security essentials it has all you need "found it".
