something wrong with dvd drive?

When i put a dvd in and play it, it seems that the graphics are messed up or something, Like it skips parts of the movie and all, plus its blurry so what do i do?

Try using a dvd cleaner. your dvd drive might be dirty

But it cant be dirty cuz the computer is brand new

Well first of all, is it blurry or distorted? If it's just blurry, that's merely an issue with the resolution of either your computer or the video on the DVD.

Secondly, can you tell us your Processor speed, graphics card, and amount of RAM? If it's not high enough, this could be the source of your problem.

Finally, What application are you using to play the DVDs?
