W8.1 Ram Problem

Hi all,

Here is my problem :

- I bought an Acer aspire V3-772G
with 8 Go ram, 1 To dd and W8.1 installed.

But as I know that it is difficult to update a computer, (now is W10 and after what ? now a 15 Mb internet, but after what?)
I wanted to update it early.
So, I bought a new 1 To dd (7200t/mn) and a new 8 Go ram.

- No problem with the dd. I put there my music and programs and no problem. Very fast.

- But :The 8 Go ram is exactly the same as the others :
DDR3L (1,35V), 11/11/11 Cas, PC : 12 800
and gives me regarly(that could happen once a day, once three days, once a week) a : " IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL" with: usbxhci.sys error.

- When I put this RAM off...no error.

What I allready did :
- There is a tool in W8.1 to verify RAM (as memtest) and no error detected.
Several "pass" made.
- There is also a tool "verifier" to verify the drivers : nothing.
- This computer is updated (windows, acer and nvidia last updates for the drivers )
- It is sold to be able with a 32 Go Ram....so, updating the BIOS seems dangerous only for 16 Go.

What do you think about that ?

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi and thank you for the response and search,

No, they are all " 1.35V ", so they are DDR3 L.

Hi Murf and thank you for the response,

I realy don't have this info. Even when I launch the "acer identity card".

I "googled" all you said.

The nearest is 9646. Else the graphic is GeForce GT 750M.

But same processor, ram and etc...

PS : - I wrote to the Acer center...The response was to send them this comp... To see what they could do...

- The Ram installed are ACR16D3LS1KFG/4G . I can't find them else via EBay...

That said, the comp works fine (with its 8Go), fast, and it is a real pleasure.

It should be on the tag on the bottom. Also Belarc may tell you.

On the tag on the bottom, ther's this :

Number : VA73

But I think that all these models, are the same. DDR3L..With all 32 Go Ram allowed.

I think that this is a question of "single channel" and "dual channel".

Aspire V3-772G-7448 has

Intel Core i7-4712MQ Quad Core 2.20Ghz
17.3" Full HD
Nvidia GeForce GT 750M with 4GB Dedicated Memory
8 GB, DDR3L Sdram SODIMM
1 TB HDD

Look likes yours?

ACR16D3LS1KFG/4G is:

DDR3-1600MHz
non-ECC
Unbuffered
CL11
204 Pin
1.35V
Low Voltage
SODIMM
4GB

Now Crucial shows a mx of 16GB memory with 2 slots, but you have 4 slots right?

DDR3 is currently one of the fastest memory out there.

DDR2 has a "slot "is slightly off-set from the center where it fits into the memory slot approximately 7cm from one side

DDR3 "slot" is off-set more, approximately 5.5cm from one side

BTW: Nice lappy
