Question MSN Sniffer

I just have a quick question about this program, it seems to record conversations had with other individuals.... but does it record the IP address, service provider, and web browser of the people that you talk with?

They aren't listed as features on the web site, so I'm guessing NO. Judging from the way it works, all of those features you enquire about are impossible anyway; except the IP address, which is difficult to obtain only because the MSN network obscures it for privacy reasons (plus that's just the way the MSN network operates). Also note that if you aren't the user's parent/guardian, or a corporate IT administrator who has informed your users of traffic monitoring, you could possibly be violating privacy laws by using this program.

They're lying to scare you, it's not possible for them to get any info other than your IP address, which is pretty difficult with MSN. It used to be that doing file transfers could potentially give away your IP to the other user, but I don't think even that is the case these days.

Technically with an IP address you could find the location of someone down to the city (with exact locations requiring assistance of the ISP), which is the main reason why modern instant messaging apps (like MSN) don't disclose those addresses (attempting to monitor the MSN connection will only result in gaining the address of the MSN server, not the other user, without some major hacking).
