Combining Several Pictures Into One Picture

An elementary question: How do you place two separate pictures into a single picture(collage or side-by-side). I am trying to do this in Paint and have followed the HELP section but still cannot get it to work. Have got it to work before but either I am missing something or am just ignorant. I am sure there is another software program that will make it easier. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, what OS are you using & what other imaging programs are on your computer? I've used PowerPoint to put multiple images into a single panel (either for lectures or as a printout); although I've not given it a try Open Office's Impress would likely do the same (as would other similar programs).

Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, the GIMP (on a Linux OS), and likely other similar programs can accomplish this goal. I'm sure others will provide additional suggestions - good luck!

Thanks Giradman! I used another program on XP--Jacz Paint Shop Photo and I had no problem. Had not done this for a while and forgot what program I used previously but your suggestions got me thinking.

You can stitch images together (panorama) with Irfanview or XnView too. Both are freebies.

In MSPaint, open up the second picture, Select All, Copy. Then open up the first picture, expand the canvas to the required size, Paste, and drag it in place.

Photoshop has a really cool auto-blend tool that makes collaged images seamless, its a nice touch, but im not sure if it is available in PSP
