yes, there is nothing there, they tell you how to switch from plain text to html, but the insert text as file option, doesnt seepm to be an option anymore.

Just a guess here but with the new message window open, make sure the cursor is in the message body field when you look for "insert text as file." If the cursor is still in the To or Subject field, most "Insert" options will be unavailable since it can't insert much into the To or Subject fields.

Hi simplyg123,

Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, as you mention "insert text as file" and this is for "insert text from file"...
When you click on the Insert tab, look for the Text group on the ribbon that is displayed beneath the tabs. Object should be in the Text group....click on the arrow that's next to Object then select Text from File. Navigate to the file that you want to insert and double-click on it.

no luck there either Greta, outlook 2007 doesn't seem to have the option, i found the object button, but there is no arrow next to it, and it doesn't have text from file option within the object selection box either. Ive read a few articles on how they changed a lot, and not for the best, they have actually been accused of taking "email" back 10 years. Oh well, if anyone happens to figure this out let me know.

I tried that GretaP, and it just inserts an object.
The nearest I've got to it is by following this knowledge base article, but it still comes in as an attachment. Rather tellingly, this article was updated this month, but has no ref to Outlook2007. Bummer.

what a pain, I very very occasionaly want to do this, but have yet tried it from my laptop (which runs 2007). Lucky for me I've got a pc with Exchange2003 on, so I can still achieve it.

I only use Outlook at work, not at home, so I was trying to go from memory for what might work
It's not something I would have use for in my work emails, so I've never had cause to try it.

You're very welcome

Sorry we weren't able to find a solution to the problem

Please post back and let us know what you find out from Microsoft.

I've been trying this again today - no luck! Technet is full of articles how to do it in every version of Outlook

Look forward to seeing if simplyg123 gets a resolution from MicroSoft.
